Director of Bands - Troy Cronkhite

Currently the Director of Bands at Glendale High School and is in his 14th year of teaching.  He resides with his wife, Suzanne, and three children, Melany, Jeremy and Addison.  Following high school, Troy attended Nebraska Christian College where he went to school to be a youth minister, but his love for music was very strong and decided to put the talents of music that were given to him to use.  In the spring of 1996, Troy returned to music and began his music education at Northeast Community College in Norfolk, NE.  He later transferred to Northwest Missouri State University.  In 2002, Troy became the Director of Bands for the Lathrop R-2 School District and spent the next four years transforming the program to a traditional band program that would have a separate middle school and high school bands.  In 2006, Troy began work with the Smithville band program.  In the six years that he was there, the marching band program has received high honors on and off of the field.  In addition, the color guard program remains one of the best units in the area and the drum line has become very competitive.  The symphonic band has been the recipients of six straight Superior Division “I” ratings at the Missouri State Large Group Festival.  Troy also served as the Northwest Missouri District #1 Vice President of Junior High Bands.  The responsibilities include organizing the auditions for the Junior High Honor Band and help organize the honor band festival for the district.


ASSISTANT Director - Seth Cunningham

Seth currently serves as the Assistant Band Director, and percussion coordinator at Glendale High School. He is in his third year of teaching, and has spent the duration of those three years at GHS. Seth Holds a Bachelors degree in music education from Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. In addition to teaching at Glendale, Seth also teaches private percussion lessons in the community and performs with various bands throughout SW Missouri. Under his direction, Glendale’s percussion students have received accolades in both marching and concert percussion including outstanding percussion at Carthage maple leaf festival as well as “1” ratings at district and state festivals. Seth is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and proud endorser of Soultone cymbals.
